The Age of Maul Begins: Shadow Lord Trailer Reaction

I have some major news for the Moosey Nation! If you haven't seen it yet, the latest official trailer for Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord just dropped, and let me tell you, it is everything I hoped for and more.

Honestly, when I hit play and heard that familiar theme, it gave me absolute goosebumps. I’ve been waiting for more from this era, and seeing Maul back in action like this is exactly what we needed.

Return to a Dark Era

This show is firmly planted in the timeline we love, bridging the gap and showing us the rise of Maul's influence within the criminal underworld and his vendetta against the Empire. The trailer gives us a glimpse of some high-stakes action, and the animation style looks crisp, gritty, and perfect for this "Shadow Lord" persona.

Meet the Key Players

  • Maul (Sam Witwer): The legendary Sam Witwer returns to voice the former Sith Lord as he attempts to rebuild his power on the planet Janix.
  • Devon Izara (Gideon Adlon): A disillusioned young Twi'lek Jedi Padawan and Order 66 survivor whom Maul targets as a potential new apprentice.
  • Captain Brander Lawson (Wagner Moura): A local police detective on Janix trying to maintain a fragile peace.
  • Two-Boots / 2B0T (Richard Ayoade): Lawson's unique police droid partner, who, true to his name, actually wears a pair of boots.
  • Rook Kast (Vanessa Marshall): A returning Mandalorian ally from The Clone Wars who remains loyal to Maul's cause.
  • Marrok (A.J. LoCascio): A Jedi-hunting Inquisitor who serves as a major physical threat to Maul.

Why I'm Hyped

The lightsaber action looks intense, and the dialogue suggests we are going to see a much more calculated, dangerous version of Maul than ever before. He is not just a warrior anymore, he is a leader building an empire of his own to rival the one that betrayed him.

Between the lightsaber duels and the deep dives into the galactic syndicates, I am too excited and simply cannot wait for April 6th!
